Clinical History
- 37 year old
- Routine Cervical Smear
- No history
- Has had regular smears

Diagnosis
Poorly differentiated carcinoma (Glassy Cell Carcinoma) of the cervix.
Glassy Cell Carcinoma
This is highly aggressive, undifferentiated form of adenosquamous carcinoma and accounts for 20% of adenosquamous carcinoma.
Cytologic Characteristics:
- Cells show abundant finely granular or "ground" glass" cytoplasm.
- Nuclei is round with prominent large, sometimes multiple nucleoli.
- Cells may contain glycogen and eosinophils may be present.
Histologic Characteristics:

- Nests and sheets of large cells are present.
- Cytoplasm is abundant, eosinophilic-amophilic with a finely granular or "ground glass" appearance. Cells show prominent cell borders.
- Nucleoli is large with prominent nucleoli.
- There is often stromal inflammatory infiltrate composed predominantly of eosinophils and plasma cells.
Conclusion: Poor Prognosis
